How to Plan a Golden Triangle Trip in 3 Days

Delhi, Agra and Jaipur in a long weekend: a practical route, what to book first, and how private transfers keep the pace realistic.

How to Plan a Golden Triangle Trip in 3 Days

The Golden Triangle — Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — is the classic first trip to North India. Three days is tight but possible if transfers are private and sightseeing is focused.

Day 1: Delhi. Cover a compact circuit such as Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar or Old Delhi, depending on your hotel area. Overnight in Delhi or start the Agra drive late afternoon if you prefer an early Taj visit.

Day 2: Agra. Sunrise at the Taj Mahal, then Agra Fort. Drive to Jaipur in the afternoon (about 4–5 hours). Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 3: Jaipur. Amber Fort, City Palace or a guided Pink City walk, then return to Delhi in the evening.

Book monument tickets in advance where possible, keep one buffer meal stop on each drive, and avoid packing too many extra stops. A licensed local guide at each city is worth more than adding another monument.

If you have a fourth day, slow the Jaipur morning or add a night in Agra. Families often prefer a 4-day pace; couples on a short stopover usually choose the 3-day private circuit.
